Summer league games are held Monday nights from May 5th to Aug 25th at London Ice Park. Games are 50 minutes long starting from 6:00pm through 9:00 pm. Schedules are posted on this website.
League Philosophy:
The league is operated as a recreational house league. Emphasis is placed
on fun and participation. Violence of any kind will not be tolerated. It
is a league designed for fun and fitness and we welcome players of all skill
levels.
League Operation/Rules:
Following registration you will be placed on a team based on your level
of playing experience. Every effort is made to make the teams as balanced
as possible. Jerseys will be provided. There will be two referees for each
game. Offside rules are enforced. No touch icing is in effect. Body-checking
is NOT allowed. Exsessive physical contact will result in a penalty. Repeat
offenders or non-sportsmanlike play could result in suspension from the
league without refund. Basic penalties (hooking, tripping, slashing &
interference) will be enforced. If you have a complaint about a player or
referee you must provide the London
Ice Park staff with a formal written complaint.
Risk of Injury:
Hockey is a contact sport and poses a potential risk of personal injury
to any participant. We try to minimize the risks by not permitting body
contact, but please be aware risks do exist.
Pregnancy:
If you become pregnant during the hockey season, you must contact us. We
do not encourage you to play while pregnant; however, the choice should
be between you and your doctor. If you do decide to continue playing, we
require you to sign a release waiver.
Subs:
We've made a change to player substitutions this summer season to ensure
that all subs get an opportunity to play and that all money is collected
from subs for games played. Each team will have their own sub list. The
sub lists will be balanced by skill level for each team. Teams can only
call up subs from their own team list. All players wishing to be on the
sub list will be required to pay 5 games in advance at $10.00 for a total
of $50.00. Each time a sub is called to play, she must sign the game sheet
with 'SUB' written beside her name. We will
keep track of how many times subs are called. If a sub plays more than 5
games they have the option to pre-pay for 5 more games. If a sub doesn't
play their 5 pre-paid games, they will be reimbursed at the end of the season.
The player who requires the sub must email info@stuttermusic.com with their full name, the sub's full name and the date of game. At the end
of the season we will reimburse players $10.00 for each game a sub was called
to play for them. If players don't email us we can't reimburse them for
those games. Goalie subs play for free and there will be one goalie list
that all teams can contact.
Waiting List:
If a player needs to leave the league we will replace them with a player
from the waiting list. If we are successful, the replacement player will
directly pay the player they are replacing for the remaining ice time.
Equipment:
Full ice hockey equiptment must be worn. Helmets must have full cages.
